Windows XP Setup Instructions

This tutorial will quickly help you get connected to Leapfrog Internet using Windows XP. If you have any difficulties please call 218-529-1102 or email us at contact us with your questions.

 

 

To begin Windows XP dialup setup you will need to follow these steps

  1. Click the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen
  2. Click Programs
  3. Click Accessories
  4. Click Communications
  5. Click New Connection Wizard
  6. Once you click on the New Connection Wizard, the screen below should appear.
Click Next

 

Choose the option Connect to the Internet


 

Choose Set up my connection manually

 

 

Choose Connect using a dialup modem

 

For ISP name field, Enter HARBORNET.NET.NET

 

Type the local access phone number that your computer will dial into the box, then click 'Next'.

**Please note it is the customer's responsibility to find the correct access number that is a local call.**

 

Enter your Username and Password in the fields provided

Check mark the option Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the internet from this computer

Check the option Make this the default internet connection

HARBORNET.NET recommends that you uncheck the option for Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection

Click Next

 

We're just about done- now just make sure the 'Add a shortcut...' box is checked and click 'Finish'. This will add an icon to your desktop to make dialing to the internet quick and easy.

 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 
 
 

Congratulations! You have now finished setting up your Leapfrog Internet account- you are now free to 'hop' around the Internet!
