Outlook 2002 Email Setup

Open Outlook 2002, at the top select the Tools menu, then select the E-mail Accounts option.

 

Select the option to "Add a new e-mail account" and click the Next button.

 

 

 

Select "POP3" as the mail server type, Next button.

 

 

 

Next fill out the correct information.

• Your Name
• Your email address ( username@harbornet.net )
• Your login information ( username and password )
• Incoming POP3 mail server ( mail.harbornet.net )
• Outgoing SMTP mail server ( mail.harbornet.net )

Once this is filled out click the "More Settings" button.

 

A new window will open with additional settings. Under the General tab enter a name for your e-mail account. Usually this would be your email address "username@harbornet.net". Also fill in the reply email account with your email address.

 

 

You will not need to make changes to the outgoing server tab or the advanced tab. However under the connection tab you may need to select the option "Connect using a Modem" if you use a dialup account. Once finished click the OK button to close the window.

The next step is to test the accounts settings. Click the button to "Test Account Settings". This will do a simple test to make sure the program can connect to the server, so make sure you are on the internet before doing this. Then click Next.

 

 

Click the finish button and you will have completed the setup.
