Opera 6 Email Setup

Follow these steps to setup a dialup network connection to HARBORNET.NET

 

 

Open the Opera Web Browser. At the top click the E-mail menu, then click the New Account option

 

 

 

Under the Account tab fill in the following information.

  • Account Name, This should be your email address
  • Full Name, this should be your real name
  • Email Address, your username@harbornet.net

Then Click the Servers Tab

 

Under the Servers tab fill in the following information.
Incoming Section:
  • Server, this is mail.harbornet.net
  • Protocol, this will be POP3 should already be set by default
  • Port, this is 110 should already be set by default
  • Username, this is your HARBORNET.NET email username
  • Password, this is your HARBORNET.NET email password

Outgoing Section

  • Server, this is mail.harbornet.net
  • Protocol, this will be SMTP should already be set by default
  • Port, this is 25 should already be set by default

Once you have filled out this information click the Incoming Tab.

 

Under the Incoming Tab, everything should be set OK by default. However you should check the option that states "Delete e-mail from server after retrieval" Once the settings are set as you like them click the Outgoing tab.

 

 The settings under the outgoing tab are just fine. You should not need to make any changes here. Simply click the Warnings tab.

 

The settings under the warnings tab should also be fine. However you can change these settings as you feel fit. Otherwise simply click the OK button. You are finished Opera mail is now configured to use your email account.
