Welcome and thanks for choosing Harbornet as your Internet Service
Provider. Please read through the easy-to-follow instructions and
soon you will be dialed into the exciting world of the internet.

Install/Upgrading Browser
Insert the Harbornet CD-ROM into your computer. A start page to an
interactive presentation opens and you will have some options:
1. Install Harbornet ISP Service
2. Visit the Lake Bank
3. View e-banking tutorial
4. Exit
Choose "Install Harbornet ISP Service" and the
program will take you through the steps to install the latest
version of Internet Explorer or update your already installed
version. After the install, your computer will need to be
re-started, leaving the CD-ROM in the drive.
Next Step is to Set-up Your Account
After computer re-start, an installation confirmation window will
appear, with a couple of options for connection set-up. Choose to Automatically
Set-up (suggested) or Manually. If you choose to Automatically
Set-up, the program will take you through the steps needed. A
page will appear where you will need to enter your user name and
password. The dial-up account is already configured within
Internet Explorer. If you are changing Internet Service Providers,
you will need to change Harbornet to your default dial-up.

1. Only check "My Computer" under Dial-up networking: (A)
enable software compression, and (B) TCP/IP under protocols
to be used. Leave all settings at their defaults which should be
"server assigned ip address" and "server assigned
name server address's" and both options checked at the
bottom.
2. Under Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network/ the
following components should (only) be installed: Client for
Microsoft Network, Dial-up Adapter, and TCP/IP.
For those with a network card installed you might also see a XXX
Ethernet adapter and TCP/IP Ethernet adapter. Leave these
components installed. If you see any other items such as IPX/SPX,
Netbeui, Client for Netware Network remove these unless, you are
connected to a Local Area Network at your office and your Network
Administrator says otherwise. Please consult your network
administrator for other issues if this pertains to you.
To Change Your Default Dial-Up
In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options under the Tools
menu. Click on the connections tab and select Harbornet on
the dial-up settings window. Next click on the Set as Default
button. Then click Apply and OK.
To Set-up Your Microsoft Outlook Express E-mail
You will need to set up your email account while online.
Click on the Microsoft Outlook Express icon on your desktop. Your
Name Page comes up and asks you to input a display name. Put
in the name that you want people to see when they receive your
emails (usually your real name). Click on Next. The box is
defaulted to state "I already have an email address that I'd
like to use." It then asks you to input to input your email
address. Your email address is your username@harbornet.net.
Click next. The Email Server Name page comes up next. This page is
defaulted to reflect an IMAP server with Incoming and Outgoing
Mail servers as mail.harbornet.net. Click next. The Internet Mail
Logon page comes up. It asks for your Account Name, enter your
user name. It then asks for your password, enter your password.
Click Finish. Your mailboxes now come up. Click on the
mail.harbornet.net folder on the left side of the page. A box
comes up and says, "There are not any folders to show for
this account. Would you like to view a list of available folders
now?" Click Yes. You are now set up with Microsoft Outlook
Express mail using an IMAP server. IMAP means that you get instant
messaging when you get new mail. It only downloads the mail to
your computer when you click on it. All mail is stored on our
servers to save you room on your computer. You may save your mail
to your computer.
